IEEE802標準化活動

概要

 米国のIEEEには、標準化規格を策定するIEEE Standards Associationがあり、その傘下にはローカル・エリア・ネットワークなどの規格を策定するIEEE 802委員会が存在します。
このIEEE 802委員会のうち、北沢は
・IEEE 802.11 Working Group(無線LANの仕様標準化を行う)
・IEEE 802.15 Working Group(主に近距離無線通信の仕様標準化を行う)
に参加し、寄書の提出や、IEEE 802.15 Working Groupにて検討部会を立ち上げ、議長として標準化を推進しました(IEEE 802.15 Working Groupにて提案から議長を務め、標準化完了まで行ったのは日本人初です)。
