Learning Objectives |
Electronic devices are designed and fabricated based on the principles of solid-state physics, particularly semiconductor physics. A sound understanding of quantum mechanics is essential for understanding the fundamental properties of solids and quantum materials. In this course, students will learn the basic concepts of quantum mechanics, including the uncertainty principle, wave functions, the Schrödinger equation, quantized energy levels, and quantum tunneling. The course also introduces their applications to semiconductor physics, electronic devices, quantum beams, and quantum materials. The objective of this course is to provide students with a fundamental understanding of quantum engineering and the knowledge required to understand the operating principles of modern electronic and quantum technologies. |
