| 授業のねらい ／Learning Objectives |
この科目は、留学生と日本人学生との合同で行い、日本や留学生の出身国に関する文化・社会・時事・歴史・生活習慣・ものの考え方などに関するさまざまなテーマについて、受講する学生が共同作業で調べたり、発表したり、討論したりすることによって、留学生と日本人学生が相互に交流しながら、異文化についての理解や多様性を深め合うことを目的とする。 This class aims at cross-cultural communication based on each student's background culture through both Japanese and foreign students' collaborative interactions so that they can understand cultural diversity and/or deepen intercultural understandings. |

| 授業計画 ／Course Schedule |
In each lesson, the teacher deals with one theme on intercultural understanding, students research for issues on the theme by themselves as a group activity. After the class starts, each theme will be shown to students. Total studying hours: 11.25 1st: Orientation of Intercultural Understanding (IU/オリエンテーション) 2nd: IU from the cultural viewpoint (Multicultural Society/多文化社会論) 3rd: IU from the cultural viewpoint (Consensus Building/合意形成論) 4th: IU from the linguistic viewpoint (Official Language & Language Education/公用語論・言語教育論) 5th: IU from the linguistic viewpoint (Non-Verbal Communication/非言語コミュニケーション論) 6th: IU from the viewpoint of social relations (World Views/世界情勢) 7th: IU from the viewpoint of social relations (Troubles/Wars/国際紛争) ※It depends on the number of students and/or progress schedule. ※In each lesson the teacher gives homework to students. ※Students should participate in each group work actively. （各回の学修時間の目安は、事前・事後合わせて4時間必要です。You need to study by yourself at home at least four hours.） |

| 成績評価方法 ／Grading Guidelines |
本授業は、各回テーマの事前調査・宿題/課題発表・レポート30%、授業中の発表・プレゼン40%、論述試験40%の割合に基づいて、積極性・貢献度も加味しながら評価を行う（到達度目標１，２）。100点満点中60点以上を合格とする。 Evaluation is based on the folioing four parts; Homework/Report Assignments 30%, Presentations 40%, Final exam (essay) 40%. Over 60 points are required to pass. |
| 履修上の注意 ／Notices |
履修登録期間においては履修登録は行わない。代わりにMoodleのアンケート機能を用いて必要事項を記入すること。受講者多数の場合はMoodle記入内容に基づいて受講者選抜を行う。先着順登録とは限らない。日本人学生13名、外国人留学生13名、合計26名を上限とする。 外国人留学生は意見交換ができる日本語力(N3レベル以上)があることが望ましい。また、日本人学生は外国人留学生と英語でコミュニケーションできる能力が求められる。レポートは英語・日本語をその都度指定する。 授業には80%以上出席すること。不合格の場合は再履修すること。 If you are interested in taking this class, first you need get access to Moodle and answer each question there. You cannot register by yourself on CampusSquare. 26 students maximum: 13 for Japanese and 13 for international students. It is better for international students to have Japanese language competence at least N3 for discussion with Japanese students. Instead, Japanese students also need to have English language competence at least TOEIC 550 or above. Over 80% of attendance is required. Students have to retake this class if failed. |

授業においては日本語を第一言語とするが、必要に応じて第二言語として英語も使用しながら説明することがある。多様な環境を創出できればと考えている。 ※令和５年度後期より８週１単位科目となり、読替ができないことから、旧カリ適用の学生（編入生含む）は事実上受講できない。 In this class, both Japanese and English will be used. Moodle will also be used. |
