授業のねらい /Learning Objectives |
This course aims to give the students the vocabulary and expressions needed to give a successful academic presentation in English. Coursework will include examples of presentations and various listening and speaking activities which enable students to learn and practice specific expressions and structures. The course will also cover poster presentation, visuals and question and answers. By the end of the course students will be able to deliver a professional poster presentation on their doctoral research topic. |

授業計画 /Course Schedule |
総授業時間数(実時間):22.5時間 Day 1 - Introduction Day 2 - Presentation basics Day 3 - Presentation writing Day 4 - Visuals Day 5 - Layout Day 6 - Poster presentation Day 7 - Review and evaluation Note: This is a 7 day intensive course. For days 1 to 5 there will be 2 classes each day. In the morning there will be a 2 hour instructional class. In the afternoon there will be a 1 hour consultation session when students can talk individually with the teacher about their presentations. 新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行状況に伴い、学生への十分な周知のもと、授業計画・授業実施方法は変更する可能性があります。 Due to the epidemic situation of COVID19, the plan and implementation method may be changed. 成績評価方法 /Grading Guidelines |
Students will be graded on their final poster presentation. 50% will be graded on the English used in the poster and in the interaction with the public. 50% will be graded on the content and clarity of the research topic. 新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行状況に伴い、学生への十分な周知のもと、成績評価方法は変更する可能性があります。 Due to the epidemic situation of COVID19, the evaluation method may be changed. Student who miss more than 2 days of classes will automatically fail the class and have to register for the class the following year. |
