授業のねらい
/Learning Objectives
Fundamentals and application of fluid flow. The subject matter considered includes those in classical hydrodynamics, hydraulics and transport phenomena. The main topics are: Dynamics of a body moving through a fluid medium, inviscid fluid flows, viscous fluid flows, boundary layers, chaotic instability, unsteady pipe flow, and bubble dynamics.

The students are expected to read the references on fluid mechanics prior to the class and review the lectures. They should refer to a math textbook and refresh your knowledge especially on fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and differential equations.

成績評価方法
/Grading Guidelines
Takehome assignments (70%+30%). Students who submit both assignments and obtain a 60% + average over the assignments pass the course (no resit). The assignments will be assessed as follows: Structure, accuracy, clarity of communication, effective use of figures and tables, application of material and references, and your own analysis and interpretation.
