理工系英語のパラグラフライティングの基礎力向上を目指す。 This class aims to improve basic skills in paragraph writing focusing on scientific English. |

1. 理工系英語の文章の特徴を文法と語彙の面から理解すること。 2.理工系英語テキストの論理構造を理解すること。 3.与えられたトピックについてパラグラフライティングを実践できること。 1. To understand the grammatical and lexical characteristics of scientific papers. 2. To understand the structure of scientific papers. 3. To be able to practice paragraph writing on a given topic. |
| 授業計画 ／Course Schedule |
総授業時間数 ２２．５時間 Total hours: 22.5 第1週～第3週 授業の進め方、科学的（理論的）な文章とは何か 第4週～第6週 理論的文章の構造: 分析 (Peer Reviewing) を通じて 第7週～第11週 理論的な文章の組み立て方とその手段: cohision strategies, topic sentences, supporting sentences, reworded topic sentences, concluding sentences. 第11週～第15週 実践編：トピック、キーワード等に従ってパラグラフライティングを行う。 Week 1 - 3 Introduction to scientific/academic writing. Week 4 - 6 Constructing paragraphs: Analysis and Peer Reviewing Week 7 - 11 How to develop sentences and paragraphs into academic essays: cohesion strategies, topic sentences, supporting sentences, reworded topic sentences, concluding sentences. Week 12 - 15 Practical exercises: Paragraph writing according to a given topic and keywords. |

教科書・参考書は指定せず、その都度プリントを配布する。 No textbook. Handouts will be provided in every class. |
| 成績評価方法 ／Grading Guidelines |
課題５０％、最終レポート50%で評価する。100点満点中60点以上が合格点である。 The score of each student is evaluated by assignments (50%) and a report (50%). A grade of more than 60 is accepted for a credit. 到達度目標１～３は課題と最終レポートで評価する。 Goals 1-3 are evaluated by assignments and a report . |
| 履修上の注意 ／Notices |
欠席は理由の如何にかかわらず3回までしか認めない。 Absences may not exceed three times. 不合格者は再履修しなければならない。 Students who failed in the class have to re-take the class. |
