The aim of this subject is to study about basic and advanced topics of environmental issues in a variety of fields. |

Understandings of environmental issues in a wide variety of fields are focused. 1. Understanding of deterioration phenomena due to relationship between in- and outdoor environment. 2. Understandings of quantitative method for estimating environmental risk in terms of water, air and soil. 3. The purpose of this class is to understand fundamental theory and application of microbiology. 4. Understanding of chemistry as solutions to environmental issues. 5. Understanding the desirable relationship between the environment and public policy. |

This subject deals with the following: 1-3)Course of Architecture and Building Engineering (Kishimoto) 1 Fundamental theory of In- and outdoor environment 2 Prediction and control of environment 3 Prediction of deterioration phenomena of building from multiple points of view 4-6) Course of Civil Engineering (Yoshida) 4 Environmental Risk 5 Calculation of Environmental Risk 6 Application of Environmental Risk Assessment to environmental problem 7-9)Course of Chemical and Biological Engineering (Chang) 7 Fundamental theory of Microbiology 8 Application of Microorganism: Bioremediation 9 Application of Microorganism: Production of useful Bioproducts (bio-based products) 10-12)Course of Applied Chemistry (Kanda) 10 Chemistry as solutions to enviriomental issues 11 Prevention of acid rain and air pollution 12 Treatment of automotive exhaust gas 13-15) Course of System Engineering for Public Works (Maeda) 13 Public policy and law 14 Disaster Prevention Education and Stress Manegement 15 Local policies for a Sustainable Energy Supply Report of several questions should be submitted at the end of class every week. Self lerning is essencial with the submitted report every week. |
