授業のねらい /Learning Objectives |
"Designed for graduates who are interested in environmental issues and emphasized on understanding of basic concepts of environmental risk related to water, air and soil pollution, Japanese environmental quality standards based on environmental risk analysis and management, and quantitative risk assessment. Especially solid waste management is one of key topics in this subject. Environmental risk with regard to hazardous waste storage, incinerators and sanitary landfills is described with case studies." |

1.Quantitative estimation of risk : understandings of quantitative method for estimating environmental risk in terms of water, air and soil, especially the way of calculation of environmental risk in the background in Japan are focused. 2.Pollution phenomena and its prevention approach: understandings of environmental pollution phenomena related to solid waste disposal in Japan and applications for estimation of environmental risk and risk management are emphasized. |

Total hours 24hrs No. 1 Introduction of this subject, “What is environmental risk?” No. 2 Environmental risk assessment in environmental standards: water quality(1) Mercury No. 3 (2) Lead No. 4 (3) Arsenic No. 5 Environmental risk assessment in environmental standards: Air(1) Asbestos No. 6 Air(2) Benzene No. 7 Soil(1) Arsenic No. 8 Soil (2) Cadmium No. 9 Environmental risk assessment and management of solid waste disposal site: Hazardous waste No.10 Fate and transport of contaminants No.11 The legal framework No.12 Physical, chemical and biological process No.13 Land disposal No.14 Environmental risk assessment No.15 Environmental risk management Report of several questions should be submitted at the end of class every week. Self lerning is essencial with the submitted report every week. |
