授業のねらい Learning Objectives	This class aims to develop communicative competence in English through extensive practice in listening and speaking. Further aims of this class include development of sociolinguistic competence and intercultural communication skills. The prime objective is that students will improve their confidence in communicating in English.
到達度目標 Outcomes Measured By:	1. Establish confidence and basic competence in communicating in English. 2. To gain practical experience using English appropriately in a variety of situations. 3. To gain greater cultural competence in using English.

成績評価方法 Grading Guidelines	Assignments (課題) が50%, Final Exam（学期末試験）が50%の100点満点で評価。 100点満点中60点以上を合格とする。 Students will develop their communicative competence in all four skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing. These {=到達度目標（１）−（３）｝ will be measured by tests, presentations, and instructor-student interviews.
履修上の注意 Please Note	欠席は理由の如何にかかわらず3回までしか認めない。『学生便覧』に載っている欠席届を教務課に提出すること。4回以上欠席した者は再履習しなければならない。なお、再試験は1回のみ実施する。再試験で不合格の者は、次年度開講予定の再履習クラスを受講しなければならない。正当な理由なく遅刻した場合は、欠席扱いとなる。

備考 Remarks	外国語の学習はスポーツの修得に似ています。頭で理解するだけでは不十分で、実際に自分で反復し修得し実践でどんどん応用していくことなしに上達はありえません。学生の皆さんからの積極的な参加を期待します。
