授業のねらい Learning Objectives	This course aims at giving students the basic language　and confidence required to communicate orally in a variety of everyday situations. In class students will participate in exchanges where English is used. Extensive listening exercises will also be included.
到達度目標 Outcomes Measured By:	1. Establish confidence and basic competence in communicating in English. 2. To gain practical experience using English appropriately in a variety of situations. 3. To gain greater cultural competence in using English.
授業計画 Course Schedule	総授業時間数（実時間）：22.5時間 Week 1 and 2 All about me and you: Introduction to the course plus greetings and common phrases used in the classroom. Extensive use of the verb to be, use of adjectives to describe people. Use of the present and present progressive tenses. Interaction with students in other countries online. Week 3 and 4 Your best holiday: Use of the past tense to talk about events that occurred previously. Irregular verbs and question structure understanding required. Prepositions of time and place will be used as you discuss this topic with students in other countries online. Week 5 and 6 Planning a trip: Use of future tenses to organize schedules and make plans. You will use these to organize an imaginary trip to a foreign country. Week 7 and 8 Comparing lifestyles: Use of perfect tenses to time and outcomes. Learning how to compare. Week 9 and 10 Culture: Use of - have to - and other forms for stating rules and regulations. Verb phrases. Week 11 and 12 What if ...: Conditional tenses. Use of if + present, will + infinitive, if + past, would + infinitive Week 13 That was then ...: Use of -used to- to talk about change. Week 14 Review and speaking exam Week 15 Final exam.　　 （海外の学生たちとの交流があるのでその学生たちとあわせるために上記の日程変更が若干変更する場合があります。） コミュニケーション課題と小テストを毎回課します。完成しないと合格できません。

成績評価方法 Grading Guidelines	定期試験50％(の内５割は会話の試験です-到達度目標１）、小テスト20％・インタネット上課題30％によって評価し、１００点満点中６０点以上を合格とする。 単語習得しているかどうか評価方法は小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 リスニングを評価する方法は音声ファイルを聞いてから小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 コミュニケーション能力を評価する方法は会話の試験で評価します-到達度目標１。平均１分間あたりの話す単語数、正確さ、発音、そしてコミュニケーションを成立しているかどうか総合的に評価します。インタネット課題で他国の学生とのコミュニケーションも同じように評価します-到達度目標2,3。他国の学生とのコミュニケーションをしないとコース合格は非常に難しいので、積極的にして下さい-到達度目標2,3。 不認定の者は再試験や追加課題を受けなければならない。再試験で認定された場合、評点は６０点とする。
履修上の注意 Please Note	欠席は理由の如何にかかわらず3回までしか認めない。4回以上欠席した者は再履習しなければならない。なお、再試験は1回のみ実施する。再試験で不合格の者は、次年度開講予定の再履習クラスを受講しなければならない。正当な理由なく遅刻した場合は、欠席扱いとなる。最初の授業で説明します．必ず最初の授業を出席しなさい．コンピュータ教室で行うので毎回必ず自分のユーザ名とパスワードを持ってきてください。
