授業のねらい Learning Objectives	This class will give you the foundations for your English education at Muroran Institute of Technology. The four basic skills of language will be covered and you will be exposed to a variety of English speakers and writers.
到達度目標 Outcomes Measured By:	You will attain basic proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking English with regard to topics that you are familiar with, and ones related to your course of study.
授業計画 Course Schedule	総授業時間数（実時間）：22.5時間 Week 1 Introduction to the course and English at MuroIT. Introductions Week 2 Explaining how things work. Use of imperatives to describe how to complete actions. Week 3 Talking about the future : Future tenses Week 4 Giving and receiving - polite requests and acceptances. Week 5 Getting to know you ? past tenses Week 6 Travel ? experiences and perfect tenses Week 7 Review Week 8 Describing people : Who we are, what we like and what we like to do. Present tense. Week 9 Cultural Routines : Use of the present tense to describe recurring actions and events. Week 10 People and the environment : Describing frequency using adverbs. Week 11 Describing buildings : Cause and effect Week 12 Education : contrasts Week 13 Technology : Describing devices with adjectives and relative pronouns Week 14 Review and exam preparation Week 15 Exam コミュニケーション課題と小テストを毎回課します。

成績評価方法 Grading Guidelines	定期試験50％(の内５割は会話の試験です）、小テスト20％・インタネット上課題30％によって評価し、１００点満点中６０点以上を合格とする。 単語習得しているかどうか評価方法は小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 リスニングを評価する方法は音声ファイルを聞いてから小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 コミュニケーション能力を評価する方法は会話の試験で評価します。平均１分間あたりの話す単語数、正確さ、発音、そしてコミュニケーションを成立しているかどうか総合的に評価します。インタネット課題で他国の学生達とのコミュニケーションも同じように評価します。 不認定の者は再試験や追加課題を受けなければならない。再試験で認定された場合、評点は６０点とする。
履修上の注意 Please Note	最初の授業で説明します．必ず最初の授業を出席しなさい． コンピュータ教室で行うので毎回必ず自分のユーザ名とパスワードを持ってきてください。欠席４回以上になると再履修になります。You will need to attend classes and access the online materials often to achieve credit for this course.
