授業のねらい Learning Objectives	This class aims to hone the language skills that have been acquired in previous English classes. It will develop students' communicability and cultural awareness. Students' speaking and listening skills will improve through attendance in this class.
到達度目標 Outcomes Measured By:	Communication skills that have been developed in your English classes to date will be honed further. Oral communication and listening comprehension will be used extensively to ensure students' communicability is of a high standard. Socio-cultural aspects of language will also be developed.
授業計画 Course Schedule	In this class we may be working with students in other countries. As there will be some interaction, the schedule below may change. Week 1 Introductions, course information. School life and education: asking for and giving advice. Week 2 Shopping around: Review of comparisons/ contrast and also making decisions about the future. Week 3 My home and my neighborhood: Changes that have happened over time. Week 4 Travel, public transport and the weather: Making complaints. Week 5 The environment: What if? Using conditional tenses Week 6 What would you do? More conditional tenses. Week 7 Life and your Career: Making wishes and talking about the future Week 8 Life and your Career: Making wishes and talking about the future (cont'd) Week 9 Events throughout the year: Relative clauses of time, using adverbs when talking about time. Week 10 Landmarks around the world. Passive voice Week 11 Reflection: 3rd Conditional use. Week 12 Traditional culture: Infinitives and gerunds to show purpose. Week 13 Popular culture: talking about probability using modals Week 14 Review Week 15 Exam

教科書・参考書に関する備考	There is no text for this course but extensive use of the online materials found at http://oee.fnd.muroran-it.ac.jp will be required.
成績評価方法 Grading Guidelines	定期試験40％(の内５割は会話の試験です）、小テスト20％・インタネット上課題40％によって評価し、１００点満点中６０点以上を合格とする。 単語習得しているかどうか評価方法は小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 リスニングを評価する方法は音声ファイルを聞いてから小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 コミュニケーション能力を評価する方法は会話の試験で評価します。平均１分間あたりの話す単語数、正確さ、発音、そしてコミュニケーションを成立しているかどうか総合的に評価します。インタネット課題で他国の学生達とのコミュニケーションも同じように評価します。 不認定の者は再試験や追加課題を受けなければならない。再試験で認定された場合、評点は６０点とする。
履修上の注意 Please Note	最初の授業で説明します．必ず最初の授業を出席しなさい． コンピュータ教室で行うので毎回必ず自分のユーザ名とパスワードを持ってきてください。 宿題をやらないと合格するのがほぼ無理ですので毎週必ずして下さい。 ４回又はそれ以上欠席すると再履修となります。
