授業のねらい	This class aims to hone the language skills that have been acquired in previous English classes. It will develop students' communicability and cultural awareness. Students' speaking and listening skills will improve through attendance in this class.
到達度目標	Communication skills that have been developed in your English classes to date will be honed further. Oral communication and listening comprehension will be used extensively to ensure students' communicability is of a high standard. Socio-cultural aspects of language will also be developed.
授業計画	In this class we will be working with students in other countries. As there will be some interaction, the schedule below may change. Oct 5-9 Introductions, course information. School life and education: asking for and giving advice. Oct 12-16 Shopping around: Review of comparisons/ contrast and also making decisions about the future. Oct 19-24 My home and my neighborhood: Expanded use of prepositions - giving locations and introductions when you arrive at the location. Oct 26-31 Travel, public transport and the weather: Making complaints. Nov 2-6 The environment: What if? Using conditional tenses Nov 9-13 The environment: What if? Using conditional tenses (cont'd) Nov 16-20 Life and your Career: Making wishes and talking about the future Nov 23-27 Life and your Career: Making wishes and talking about the future (cont'd) Nov 30-Dec Events throughout the year: Relative clauses of time, using adverbs when talking about time. 教科書・参考書に関する備考	There is no text for this course but extensive use of the online materials found at http://oee.fnd.muroran-it.ac.jp will be required.
成績評価方法	定期試験60％(の内５割は会話の試験です）、小テスト１０％・インタネット上課題２０％・プロジェクト１０％によって評価し、１００点満点中６０点以上を合格とする。 単語習得しているかどうか評価方法は小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 リスニングを評価する方法は音声ファイルを聞いてから小テストや定期試験で穴埋め問題、多肢選択問題、組み合わせ問題等により評価します。 コミュニケーション能力を評価する方法は会話の試験で評価します。平均１分間あたりの話す単語数、正確さ、発音、そしてコミュニケーションを成立しているかどうか総合的に評価します。インタネット課題で他国の学生達とのコミュニケーションも同じように評価します。 不認定の者は再試験や追加課題を受けなければならない。再試験で認定された場合、評点は６０点とする。
履修上の注意	最初の授業で説明します．履修予定者は必ず出席しなさい． コンピュータ教室で行うので毎回必ず自分のユーザ名とパスワードを持ってきてください。
教員メッセージ	This is a communication class so please be prepared to talk in class. We will also probably be working with students from other countries. If this happens there may be some changes to the syllabus.
