授業のねらい |
To enable students to critically analyze contemporary world cinema and to understand how film influences both individuals and societies. |
|
到達度目標 |
For most people, watching a film is a form of recreation, something done to relax or pass the time. This course introduces a different way of engaging with the cinema: as an object of critical investigation. You will watch films from around the world and develop an understanding of how film shapes and reflects national identity and culture. In addition, different aspects of film representation, such as violence, gender, family, sexuality, narrative, utopianism and nationalism, will be examined. Screening, readings and discussions will all be conducted. |
