    Introduction

    Muroran Institute of Technology (Muroran IT) is a technical institute which is composed of the Faculty of Engineering, a four-year course leading to a Bachelor’s degree, which consists of four departments; a Graduate School, which has a two-year course in three divisions for the Master’s degree, and a three-year course in one division for a Doctor’s degree.

    Emerging Networks and Systems Laboratory (ENeS)

    The Emerging Networks and Systems Laboratory (ENeS) focuses on the research on computer systems and applications, including Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Wireless Networks, UAVs, and the Internet of Things. There are 4 Ph.D students, 10 master students, 4 visiting Ph.D students, 3 visiting master students and 2 research students. The instructor tutors has established long-term cooperative relationships with universities in Japan and overseas.

    Campus and its Surroundings

    Muroran is situated in the southwestern part of Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan.The campus of Muroran Institute of Technology is located in the northeastern part of the city at the foot of Mt. Muroran (911m).Even though Muroran is an industrial city, its air is clean and clear. Rich green surroundings are refreshing and relaxing. The Institute is blessed to have such a favorable environment for teaching and research.
