Request to students for cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19

Dear Students,

New cases of coronavirus infection in university campuses, extracurricular and off-campus activities are being increasingly reported nationwide.

Although there has been no case of COVID-19 clusters in schools in Hokkaido, the risk of students’ infection inside and outside the University is significantly on the increase.

As written below, we have received coronavirus precautions from Hokkaido Prefecture. In light of current critical situation in Japan, MuroranIT will continue to thoroughly take precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19 during the summer holidays and, at the same time, we ask you to strictly adhere to the following practices:

-Make sure to wash hands, wear a mask and avoid the Three Cs(Closed spaces, Crowded places and Close-contact settings) in on- and off-campus activities.

-Avoid shouting, face-to-face contact and droplet infection at places, such as cafeterias and rest spaces, and at parties held outside the University where the Three Cs overlap.

-Do not go out if you have symptoms—fever, coughing, fatigue, shortness of breath, trouble breathing, sore throat, loss of smell or taste.

-Use “Hokkaido Corona Notification System” and Contact-Confirming Application “COCOA” by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
